Welcome Misty!

I am so excited and humbled to join the work the Lord is already doing in the hearts and lives of students in Johnston County through First Priority. This unique opportunity to support, equip, and train students to share the Gospel on their campus is such an amazing gift. While I have observed and supported the work of First Priority from a distance for many years, the Lord’s desire to bring this full circle in the last several weeks has been nothing short of mind blowing!

Over the past year I have been in a place of transition in my life. After homeschooling for nearly 10 years, my last child graduates this Spring. She has increasingly needed less help and oversight, which has left me with a lot of time on my hands. My husband, David, has an exciting career that takes him away from home frequently.

In this season, I have really struggled to see what the Lord desired for me to do with the rest of my life. I have committed many hours and years to volunteer ministry and discipling women, but the door has never opened for me to make that a vocation. I have been praying for a long time for an opportunity like this and I am blown away by the Lord’s provision. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what He does next!

It has been such a joy to watch the clubs that are currently meeting outgrow meeting spaces and attendance caps. Rachel and I have both said over and over, the Lord is doing immeasurably and exceedingly more than we could have ever thought to ask of Him!

I am certain of one thing above all else, God is always working! No matter how chaotic, crazy, or even stagnant things may look to us, He is continuously working out His plans for the redemption of those who would seek Him. Being given the opportunity to be a piece of that puzzle is breath-taking. Coming to work alongside Rachel and seeing her passion up close, just inspires me all the more to walk in obedience to His calling.

I cannot wait to see how the Lord continues to write this story!
